Our classmate Bobby Wittels.

Robert Wittels, husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully at his home in Peoria, Arizona on July 25, 2025 at the age of 78.
Born to Abbott and Evelyn Wittels at St Joseph’s Hospital in Alton, IL. Bob attended Alton Schools and Graduated from Alton Senior High School. He continued his education at Lewis and Clark College and after relocating to Phoenix with his family continued his education at Arizona State University.
Bob enlisted in the United States Army and served three years, including a distinguished assignment at the Pentagon.
Bob built a successful and fulfilling career in Retail Sales to include owning and operating Bea’s Shoe Store in Peoria, Arizona. He continued his career with the Arizona Cardinals Football Organization, where his love for people and sports came together which was a perfect fit for Bob, he retired in 2022.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Ellen, they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. He was a proud father to Keith Wittels and his Fiance Jessica, and a deeply loving Grandfather to Peyton, who was the love of his life. He is reunited with his beloved son Adam, who preceded him in death – a loss Bob bore with quiet strength and enduring love.
Bob is also survived by his cherished siblings: his sister Nancy Dean of Bradenton, Florida his brother Barry of Phoenix, Arizona his brother Scott and his wife Ralona of Alton, IL and his brother Alan Burke and his wife Lisa of Norman, Oklahoma.
He loved his family fiercely and served his country honorably following in his Father’s Footsteps as a Veteran of the US Army.
Bob will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations my be made in Bob’s Memory to the American Cancer Society.
