CARY FRY

WOOD RIVER — Cary Lou Fry, 68, passed away at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Integrity in Wood River under the care of Unity Hospice.

She was born on November 29, 1947, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Everett Cary Sinks and Alice Ada (Gound).

She married Gordon Keith Fry on June 25, 1965, in Fosterburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1978.

Cary worked as a receptionist for the Red Cross. She was an Older Girl Specialist for the Girl Scouts and a lifetime member. Cary belonged to a catering group C2.J.E.S. She was a member of Enjoy Church in Alton. Cary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four children: Kimberly Sue Fry (Chuck Oary), of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, Shone Marie Fry (Judy Bauer) of Springfield, Illinois, Roxanna Lynn (Chuck) Johnson of Wood River and Tracy Dean (Kamie) Fry of Eldon, Missouri; two sisters, Frances Yeager of Virginia, Lavern Basden of Wood River; one brother, Leroy Sinks of Bethalto; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Mark Hilgert.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Toni Pauline Fry-Hilgert; two brothers, William Sinks and Charles Sinks; a special friend, Sue Setchell.

Visitation will be held at 5 until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.

Private Burial will be held at Belle Town Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Tasha Howard in care of the area Girl Scout Camps and/or the family.
