St. Louis, MO - Cynthia Jean Chestnut,76, of St. Louis, MO, died at 8:55 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 at DePaul Hospital, Bridgeton, MO. She was born on July 27, 1947 in Alton, Il, the daughter of James L. and Jacqueline M. (Hopper) Martin. Mrs. Chestnut, worked in Pediatrics and NICU at BJC Hospitals in Alton and North St. Louis County and retired from DePaul Hospital after 40+ years as a Registered Nurse. Surviving are her six children, Julie Beth McGhee of St. Charles, MO, Abram D. (Kelley) Chestnut of St. Louis, MO, Jared M. (Kim) Chestnut of St. Louis, MO, Adam C. Chestnut of St. Louis, MO, Rachel T. (Brian) Woodley of St. Charles, MO and Rebekah J. Chestnut of St. Louis, MO, and nine grandchildren, Jay, Max, Trevon, Lacey, Kai, Avery, Devynn, Ella and Alex, and a brother, James Mark Martin (Brian Plummer) of Godfrey, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
