WILLIAM CARROLL

ALTON — William Carroll, 70, passed away at 2:29 p.m., Nov. 9, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Ina, Illinois, on July 10, 1947, the son of Wilburn "Bud" and Doris Jean (Beaty) Carroll. They both preceded him in death.

William was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Alton VFW Post 1308, The Alton Leathernecks, The Veterans Commission of Edwardsville, The Marine Corps League, Toys For Tots and the Franklin Masonic Lodge. He worked as owner/operator of B&M Furniture in Alton.

He is survived by his children: William "Bill" (Kimberly) Carroll, Jr. of Clintwood, Virginia, and Trisha Carroll of Alton, Illinois; three grandchildren, Allyson, Cameron and Ida, and a brother, Mike (Susan) Carroll of Alton, Illinois.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, from 5 until the time of service at 7 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Toys for Tots.

Bill, a Marine, a Mason, good husband and father, how cool.

I used to race against him at Alton Dragway....

We renued our friendship at each reunion.

This is why we cant stop having the reunions on a regular basis.
