Marion Foster (Dimond)
Kathleen Rose Turner, 77 passed away at 10:58 a.m. October 28, 2024 with her family by her side.
She was born on April 1, 1947 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Orlando and Alice (Austin) Porter.
She married Harry L. Turner on June 5, 1965, and he survives.
Kathy lived her entire life in the Alton area. She and her husband owned and operated The New Moon Bar and Eatery in Cottage Hills Illinois for 30 years. For the last 15 years Kathy has been employed at the Shiloh Dierbergs Store as a member of the Deli team.
Kathy is survived by Harry; their daughter Lana Jane Weber; grandson Lee Tinnon of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter in-law Katie Tinnon; two grandchildren, Quincy and Cooper Tinnon; sister Anna Dorner; brother in-law David Dorner; brother Marty Porter; sister in-law Jeannie Porter; and many other relatives and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Jesse Buis Sr; brother Chuck Porter; sister Janet Porter; stepbrother Jesse Buis Jr; her in-laws Harry and Edith Turner and sister-in-law Beverly Turk.
Kathy was an avid reader, and it is her wish that donations be made to the Wood River Public Library, 326 E. Ferguson Ave., Wood River, Illinois 62095.
