Note from Don Hampton: I just received a text from Kathy (Fones) Cramner letting me know that Ben Fones (class of 65) passed away last night from lung cancer. Ben was born and raised in Godfrey, IL. He had two daughters and lived in Columbus, Mississippi. Kathy said there would be no services.

Ben lived in the house on R#3 (old 100) just outside of North Alton where the Greenery Nursery is now. Ben attended St. Ambrose grade school -9th grade at North Jr - then Alton High. Ben retired from the Air Force as a G8 Air Craft Mechanic Instructor.

Ben Fones,Pete Rook, Tom Malone and myself joined the US Air Force in March of 1965. Ben served in Vietnam on two occasions during his military career.
