From a fellow police officer:  We will miss David, We worked everything from drug case's to homicides. He kept my PSAP up and was great fun to play golf with. He was a cop's cop and there are way to few of them left. May God send comfort to his family in their time of loss. RIP Buddy, -- Chief Richard Harrison, ret.

Dave was a young policeman and I was a young social worker in Alton too many years ago.  He was a great guy, always friendly then and each time I saw him many years later.  His family can draw comfort from what a nice man he was.

Dave was one of those real men - totally comfortable being Dave yet always made you smile & feel important. Pure solid steel on the inside... This website is bittersweet for an old goofball who still thinks of everyone as ageless teens... I wish that I had stayed more in touch w Dave and so many others who have passed on. RIP Dave, hope to meet you up there and hear some more of your great stories!
