Bonnye S. Locke 1947 - 2019
Springfield, IL—Bonnye S. Locke, 71, of Springfield, passed away at 9:43 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at St. John's Hospital.
Bonnye was born on February 22, 1947, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Aloysius and Dorothy Miller. She married Robert Joe Locke on January 8, 1971, in Alton.
Bonnye graduated from Alton Senior High School in 1965. She worked at St. Aloysius in the lunchroom for 25 years and thoroughly enjoyed working with the kids. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church and was formerly in several bowling leagues. Bonnye enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark and Lifetime movies, spending time with her family, going on road trips, shopping, and playing Bunco.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert "Bob" Locke of Springfield; daughter, Heather I. Locke of Kansas City, MO; brother, Steven (wife, Ellen) Miller of Godfrey; niece, Ardell Miller of Bethalto; and her beloved dog, Jenny.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. The memorial gathering will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at St. Aloysius Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield with Rev. Clinton P. Honkomp, O.P., celebrant.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
