Francis Homer

SEAFORD - Francis Homer, 70 years old, died on 02-25-2017. He was born in Alton, Illinois. He graduated from Alton High School in 1965. He joined the Navy in 1965. He married Barbara in 1971. He became a Naval Optician. He retired in 1995. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Homer. He also leaves behind three children: Patrick Homer, Brian Homer, and Anne Homer, along with their significant others, respectively: Sheila Evans, Terri Homer, and Daniel Bossie. He is survived by 3 grandchildren Sara Homer, Patrick Homer, Allyson Homer, and Emily Martin. Frank was a quirky man who made everybody laugh and enjoy life. He loved bikes and the Tour de France. He loved to play tennis and collected racquets. He was an avid thrift store shopper and was an eclectic collector of many things. He admired Star Wars and enjoyed collecting Star Wars memorabilia. On Saturday, March 04, 2017, the family will greet friends at 10:00 am with a funeral following at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 902 Denbigh Boulevard. May God give the family peace and the memories like we who remember him from our youth. I remember him when he was an Explorer when my dad was one of the troop leaders.

He was always funny and had a great personality. I was in English class with Francis in the 11th grade. I remember when he joined the Navy. He was still in high school and enjoyed Navy boot camp on our summer break. We all were getting drafted during the Vietnam War.  He was a good friend in high school. So sorry to the family for their loss. God Bless You All

When I worked at Owens Illinois "Glass Works " I seen and talked to Francis working at the Foundry section of the company .
