WOOD RIVER — Linda Lou (Doerr) Maholovich, 68, died peacefully at her home April 19, 2016, due to medical complications.

She was born July 25, 1947, in Pittsfield, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Cecil Doerr and Dorothy Swearingin-Doerr, and the widow of the late Ralph Maholovich, who was from Florida.

Siblings Ronald L. Doerr and Sharon K. Doerr, both of whom were infants preceeded Linda in death.

Linda leaves behind a daughter, Angela (Shaun) King; a brother, Leonard (Kathy) Swearingin, and a sister, Charlene (Darin) Wilson; four granddaughters: Jamie (Keunta) Kelso-Latham, Jenepher Kelso-Jirdon, Donna (Micah) Burnett-May and Shaunice King; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a longtime friend, Alice Stanley of Florida and her beloved companion Snickers.

Linda worked as a key punch operator at McDonnell Douglas before moving to Florida where she later met and married Ralph Maholovich. Together they owned and operated their own business, until she retired and moved home with her daughter on April 19, 2013. Since her retirement, Linda enjoyed her family, crocheting, swimming, and of course, baking! Even on rough days, she gathered her strength and added her loving touch to all family holidays and events by baking her famous chocolate cake or crocheting a keepsake. We all will sadly miss her.

Due to her wishes, no formal memorial will take place. However, to aid the family in healing, a memorial/celebration of life will take place at her daughter's residence, 778 Purvis Dr., Wood River, IL 62095, Saturday April 23, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m.(fellow shift workers are welcome as schedule fits). Please send all flowers or other donations to the above address.
