JERSEYVILLE — Lonnie D. Billings, 73, passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton. Per his wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and no services are planned at this time. Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville entrusted with arrangements.

Funeral home obit: JERSEYVILLE – Lonnie D. Billings, 73, passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton. 

He was born in Alton on February 11, 1946, the son of the late Earl Russell Billings II and Imogene Billings (Ennis). Lonnie loved to travel and spent much of his youth traveling across the United States. His life experiences aided in his ability to tell a story, and captivate an audience. In addition to this, he enjoyed playing the harmonica, buying and selling antiques, and collecting guns and knives.

He is survived by one son, Craig Billings & wife Cynthia of Godfrey, granddaughter Elizabeth Spicer of Alton, grandson Hunter Billings of Godfrey, IL, former wife of 30 years, Phyllis Billings of Alton, his sister, Karen Harper & husband Jack of Sun City, AZ, a very close nephew, Earl Russell Billings IV of Godfrey, and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, by his brother Earl Russell Billings III of Burlington, IA. 

Per his wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and no services are planned at this time. 

Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is in charge of arrangements.
