70 of Wanatah, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 28, 1947 in Wood River, IL to LeOtis Beach and Virgie (Cummings) Longbottom. Sherrygraduated from Alton High School in Alton, IL and most recently worked as a Line Server at the Valparaiso University Cafeteria.

She enjoyed reading, especially books by Nora Roberts or Fern Michaels. Sherry was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be remembered as the rock of her family. She will be dearly missed.

On August 14, 1965 in Brighton, IL, Sherry married Bobby Riley, who survives, along with their children: Sheila (Rich) Minton of Wanatah, Bobby J. Riley of Phoenix, AZ, Samantha Meyers of Valparaiso, Dustin Riley of Valparaiso, Zachary Riley of Wanatah; grandchildren: Candace Minton, Callie Minton, Abigail Reeves; sisters, Kay Northcutt and Mary Pat Tickner, both of IL, and brother, Floyd Longbottom of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jean Barnes, and brother, Carl Longbottom. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Wanatah Funeral Chapel , 309 N. Main St., Wanatah, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM.
